Sharon from Iver...
"Fun, challenging and so far very, very effective! I dont't cover my bottom with a jumper when I go to the shop anymore! It's great to have a few hours a week dedicated solely to me with no interruptions!"
Lucy (wearing the collar, panting) has also llost a few pounds and inches in girth. Sharon has gone from being able to jog for only 30 seconds to finishing the first UK Asthma 10k in 1 hour and 10 minutes. She has also lost over 3 1/2 stones in the process!

Wendy completes her first marathon!
Wendy came to us initially to lose weight and get back to a size 12. Having never really run before (20 minutes was a struggle) with the help of her trainer improvements (both fitness & dress size) soon came, so she decided to enter the Trans Sahara Run.As this involves fighting through 50 degree heat for days on end we persuaded her to attempt a marathon instead. After 3 months of excellent training Wendy finished the 2006 Benidorm Marathon within her target time of 5 hours and 20 mins. As the only fun runner she also had to run at the back of the race with police escort outriders, and thus recieved the magnificent trophy seen on the home page. A colossal well done from the DDW team, here's to New York next year!

Spencer; "I've always been sport orientated, playing a lot of football and golf and also running for the county. However a diet of beer, coca-cola and curries, combined with too many late nights and sitting in front of a computer screen took its toll."
I went from an athletic twelve stone to thirteen and three quarters. In the three to four months we have been working together I have lost about a stone and a quarter and am at my optimum weight of twelve and a half stone. Working with Diets Don't Work is great; my trainer Annie is very professional, thorough, determined and motivated to do the best for her clients. She is also very fun loving, outgoing and always has a smile on her face. Whether you want to lose a little weight or really tone up you can get the results, I promise you that, (just take a look at me!). I would recommend Diets Don't Work to anyone thinking of using a personal trainer.
Nick was told his high cholesterol was "normal for someone his age" after his annual BUPA Premier Health assessment. Intent on changing this,he enlisted our help. Three months later it had fallen so much (from 6.3 to 5.2) his doctor didn't believe it and had to double check the results.
Now one year in to personal training Nick's latest health check provides an official scientific record of his gains through exercise, motivation and nutritional improvement. All the following are taken from his BUPA report by doctor P Sharma: "Since your last assessment you have arranged regular sessions with a personal trainer, this has helped to reduce your body fat percentage, fitness, cholesterol levels, LDL cholesterol levels and waist/height ratio-well done! Since completing a regular exercise programme your episodes of back pain have reduced.
Changes to your diet incorporate a healthy balance of fruit and vegetables and limited saturated fat which is reflected by a significant improvement in your cholesterol profile." "Based on your cholesterol level, blood pressure and other parameters we worked out that you have a 4% chance of having coronary heart disease in the next 10 years, which is much better that the average for your age of 14%.
Body fat percentage: from 21% to 19%
Waist-height ratio: from 49 to 45
Total Cholesterol: from 6.3mmol/l to 5.1mmol/l
LDL: from 4.5 to 3.2mmol/l
HDL (protects against heart disease): 1.4 to1.6
"I went to Diets Don't Work because, having spent four months getting nowhere with my training for the half-marathon 2006 Great North Run, I knew I needed to get help"
Annie was happy for my dog Mickey to join us on our runs and always made our sessions fun and different. She encouraged me to do more than I thought I could do, but she also never gave me a hard time if I just couldn't do it. After two sessions a week for three months Annie gave me such confidence that I did the Great North Run in my target time of 2hrs.30mins.04. It was a very hard run for me but every time it got tough I would remember Annie's refrain "focus on my core" and somehow that made it easier again and off I would go.
I can't speak highly enough of having Annie as my trainer - there's no way I would have done the run without her. Nor would I have become much better about my food and have slimmed my shape so that suddenly clothes that hadn't been near me for years are now fitting! With all those benefits, I couldn't bear the thought of not having Annie as my trainer! So now we meet once a week and the sessions continue to be fun and always leave me with a sense of achievement. From a 2 second plank I'm now up to a 60 second plank - how cool is that?
Thanks Annie - I never thought I'd get excited about doing the plank!
Frances from Maidenhead ...
Frances won the inagural "You Stuck it Out" award at the 2005 New York Marathon. Sponsored by Duck Tape the award was given to the last person to cross the finish line before the official time cut off of 8 hours 30 mins.......
The only other runners to win an award were the male and female winners! Not only was she the last person to cross the finish line, but she received a year's supply of duck tape and several pairs of flashy new trainers.
I have had many trainers over the years and have found that my Diets Don't Work trainer is the most knowledgeable and informative so far. Our training is fun and interesting, and has helped me maintain my health and fitness-I feel fit and healthy, and have improved my bone density with the resistance training.

I've been training with a DDW trainer for nearly a year now and the results have been great. Steady, sustainable weight loss with realistic personal targets for both weight loss and training . My trainer is very knowledgable and totally supportive. I've tried other trainers and never stuck with them because they have been so inflexible. The DDW trainers have a very different and personalised approached.

I used to be really active when I was a bit younger, but my bad knees stopped me from playing squash, even a round of golf was becoming hard-as a consequece i had also put on a bit of weight. With gentle exercise and lots of encouragement fron my trainer my knees are now much better and I feel fitter and better.
