Can your dog read your mind? Just like humans, dogs try not to get caught when doing something bad, shows new research from Portsmouth university. In the study, dogs were presented with a plate of food and then forbidden to eat it. When filmed thew dogs were four times more likely to steal the food with the lights off then they were with them on.
This implies that the dogs know the humans can’t see them, and are less likely to get caught, thus they understand the human perspective. This may come as no surprise to dog owners but this is the first time that they theory has been proved scientifically.
